Position: Senior Program Manager, TheDream.US - a project of The New Venture Fund

Location: Flexible; Status: Exempt, Full-time

Program Summary

TheDream.US is the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers - undocumented immigrants who came to this country as children. Our work is anchored in our belief that all children living in this country—regardless of where they were born —should have the opportunity to receive a college education and pursue a meaningful career. TheDream.US has over 6,500 Scholars who are enrolled in or have graduated from over 70+ Partner Colleges committed to their college success. TheDream.US’ goal is to have over 7,000 DREAMers graduate with college degrees.

Position Summary

The Program Manager plays a key role in helping DREAMers succeed in college and launch meaningful careers.  With high-level management skills, innovation, empathy, and support, the Program Manager will be primarily responsible for: (1) building and managing robust and engaged National and Opportunity Scholar communities and the Alumni Network; (2) developing and implementing Scholar and Alumni programming, including college and career success programs; and (3) serving as a relationship manager for designated Partner Colleges.

The Program Manager will report to the Program Director to execute these goals. In addition, the Program Manager will serve as an ambassador for the program.  The Program Manager will join a highly productive and supportive team that is passionate about meeting the needs of DREAMers. 

Key Responsibilities:

Scholar Programs:

  • Work with Program Director to identify Scholars’ college and career success needs and develop strategies to meet those needs
  • Develop and deliver support services and/or online content to ensure Scholars’ college completion including services related to paying for college, mental health and immigration status
  • Create and execute career readiness, networking, mentoring, job placement and other opportunities to assist Scholars in launching their careers
  • Develop and manage relationships with other partner organizations to promote their programs to our Scholars and review data to evaluate the effectiveness of those partnerships
  • Build Scholars’ esprit de corps and prestige through recognitions, incentives, and events including the annual New Scholars Welcome Orientation and on-going Scholar Gatherings or Info Sessions.
  • Work with Sr. Communications Manager to develop communications for Scholars and maintain the Scholar and PC Hubs, and TheDream.US YouTube channel.

Alumni Network:

  • Work with Program Director and Alumni Council to increase Alumni Network engagement and manage the Alumni Network platform to ensure alumni have relevant content and tools to support them in their pursuit of meaningful careers and community service
  • Continue to build a robust and engaged Alumni Network through onboarding new members, managing the Alumni Council and helping run online and regional events
  • Work with Program Director, to develop and deliver career development and job placement opportunities for Alumni.

Partner College Programs and Relationship Management:

  • Develop and deliver content for Partner Colleges that share effective practices for supporting Scholars’ college and career success.
  • Manage partner relationships for designated Partner Colleges to ensure institutional commitment; a strong and committed PC team is in place to support our Scholars; clear expectations of each other; and clear and open communication.

 Other:  Assist with other projects as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in college success and/or career support programs; experience in careers services and/or employer management is highly desirable
  • Deep commitment to serving undocumented immigrant youth
  • Demonstrated ability to working with others in defining objectives and deliverables and monitoring and evaluating results
  • Success working in a fast-paced environment under deadline, with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple and competing demands, establish priorities, remain flexible, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Creative thinker with experience in using various remote platforms, webinar and conference software, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and DropBox
  • Experience with short form video content creation & editing preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) language fluency preferred
  • High standards of personal integrity
