The Team

Finance Mission: To provide data-driven financial insight to support execution of superior, real-time operating and strategic decisions with timely and reliable financial reporting. The Finance Transformation, Data and Systems team enables the Finance department with the accessibility of data, technology and analytic / BI solutions. We accelerate Finance Transformation by enabling a data-driven and digital culture.

The Role

The Moody’s Finance team is looking to fill a special projects role focused on the enablement of reporting solutions across the Finance Organization. This role has responsibility to understand business reporting needs and contribute to the organization-wide redesign of reporting and data modeling processes. The Senior Manager will work with a team of SMEs to continue the build out of a business data warehouse, design data structures and flows, and contribute to a variety of peripheral projects. Additionally, this role will also focus on the implementation of a new EPM solution working with the Finance team to think through future state forecasting models and identify inconsistencies in modeling practices in order to drive uniformity which will result in the foundation of a future Center of Excellence/Expertise. A successful candidate will demonstrate a balanced mix of thought leadership, lean process design, collaboration, and diplomacy through our Financial systems and process transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide recommendations on current reporting and modeling capabilities across Finance
  • Integration of M&A into standardized Financial and BI reporting
  • Coordination of alternate ‘functional’ expense and corporate expense allocation reporting in SAP or other reporting tool
  • Close coordination across several different lines of business and Finance functions that are geographically dispersed
  • Business requirements translation combined with process sensibility to streamline and centralized dispersed reporting activities across Finance
  • Long-term responsibilities in the EPM implementation including project coordination and new model validation
  • Interaction with various business and staff functions and senior business management


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business discipline
  • 7+ years of business experience in a financial planning and analysis or related finance discipline
  • Strong understanding and experience in Financial Statement modeling
  • Experience with EPM, ERP, and BI modeling and reporting tools; ability to utilize systems functionality, extract data, and manipulate to support reporting and planning processes
  • Technical skills in SQL, Python, or other scripting language, a plus
  • Solution-oriented, strategic thinker; balances understanding of business requests with delivery mechanisms
  • Strong organizational skills including ability to manage multiple projects / activities at a given time
  • Comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative analysis, ability to leverage and organize data to support content delivery to key business stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience preparing executive-level presentations
  • Operates with a sense of urgency, ability to work under tight and sometimes competing priorities
