Fujitsu has an open position for a research engineer of O-RAN (Open Radio Access Network) security as a yearlong temporary employee at our research lab based out of Sunnyvale, CA. We are looking for a skilled engineer who enjoys investigating open, intelligent, and virtualized RAN systems and its security aspects and can make contributions to the O-RAN community.

This job requires technical understanding of RAN systems and its security and active participation in the O-RAN community. Someone who is comfortable working technically in an open community environment would be an ideal candidate. The role offers flexible office time with the potential to work remotely for a large fraction of the time.

Job Responsibilities:

• Investigate security requirements for O-RAN systems and its integration and write strategic/technical reports.
• Engage and participate in the O-RAN community and align it with our business. Some business travel will be required to attend workshops, meetups etc.   
• Collaborate with researchers both within and outside of Fujitsu to work towards building secure O-RAN systems.
  
  

Requirements: 

• A Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related field, and some relevant experience in research and development. Someone with a Bachelor’s degree and enough related experience may also be considered.
• Knowledge and experience in RAN, software defined network and cyber security.
• Knowledge and experience in cloud based systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
  

Depending on job performance and business outcome the position may be transitioned to a permanent one at the end of the temporary employment period.
