Description

First or Second Year Postdoctoral Position available to investigate epigenetic and gene expression differences between male and female mice across embryonic development and in embryonic stem cells. The goal of the project is to identify the genetic and epigenetic basis for sex differences in health and disease. The Fels Institute is a prestigious research institute affiliated with the Temple University School of Medicine, with a strong focus in epigenetics. Temple University is in Philadelphia, a vibrant, diverse and safe city with a strong research community and multiple opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration.



Requirements

Applicants must have a Ph.D., a background in epigenetics, and proficiency in a range of cell/developmental biology, molecular, immunological and genomic techniques, including experience in tissue culture, flow cytometry, DNA methylation analysis, microarrays, chromatin immunoprecipitation and DNA analysis software. Basic bioinformatic skills are also required. Experience with mice is preferred. Excellent oral and written English language skills are essential. Candidate should be highly motivated, creative, with strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as in collaborative research efforts. Applicants must have at least 1 first author publications from his/her PhD training. The position will be filled for one year with possible second year renewal.
