Description

There is one postdoctoral research associate position available at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. This position on quantitative phosphoproteomics focuses on the development and application of the multiplexed TMT labeling-based approach for high-throughput deep phosphoproteome profiling of small tissues and subpopulations of cells. The preferred candidate would have a Ph.D. degree in either analytical chemistry or biochemistry. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to have hands-on experience in TMT labeling, phosphopeptide enrichment, LC separations, phosphoproteomics, database searching, and data analysis. Efforts will include method development, sample preparation, and separation methods for enhancing detection sensitivity, sample throughput, and reproducibility in quantitative phosphoproteomics analysis of small samples. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will assist, and possibly lead, in the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally, he/she will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook, adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations, and follow security requirements as well as directorate/group policies. This is a full-time, limited term employment position. The duration of this appointment is two years, with the option of extending the appointment for up to three years.



Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years from an accredited college or university.  All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.

Qualifications

Experience in TMT labeling, phosphopeptide enrichment, LC separations, phosphoproteomics, database searching, and data analysis. Solid publication record is plus. Strong organization and communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment. Background in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology is required.
