Provides leadership, direction and administration for all Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) functions, employees and activities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, ASC Board of Trustees and Campbell Clinic Board of Trustees to ensure accomplishment of Campbell Clinic objectives. Supports the companies mission, goals, and objectives; Performs in accordance with policies and procedures.

 Essential Functions Statement(s)

  1. Responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and directing all activities of the ASC in accordance with policies, procedures, and objectives
  2. Recommends, develops, and updates strategic short-term and long-term goals; recommends action plans for attaining goals approved by the ASC Board of Trustees
  3. Participates in financial and cost-containment decisions and evaluates the need for materials and personnel relative to the needs of the ASC
  4. Prepares and implements capital and operating budgets making certain to operate within approved budget costs, making adjustments as needed
  5. Coordinates the compliance with staff and regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of the accrediting bodies; continually monitors operations, compliance, and physical properties and initiates appropriate changes if needed
  6. Coordinates and evaluates ongoing patient care making certain the care is in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures; reporting significant patient problems and unusual occurrences to ASC Board of Trustees and Administration
  7. Oversees patient management systems, electronic health records, and outcomes data systems in conjunction with ASC Managers and the ASC Board of Trustees
  8. Service as liaison with ASC Medical Director to determine best practices and promote quality measures
  9. Coordinates contract negotiations with CFO and outside insurance providers; contracts with outside entities/services (anesthesia, pathology labs, etc.)
  10. Ensures accuracy of productivity and quality improvement data is compiled and report necessary data to management and regulatory bodies
  11. Services as internal Risk Manager overseeing safety, risk management, OSHA, and emergency preparedness and other healthcare regulation requirements
  12. Participates in loss prevention by protecting company assets and maintaining a safe work environment
  13. Participates in quality improvement, quality care, and cost effectiveness; measures to ensure that quality standards are met
  14. Maintains patient confidentiality standards for both medical and financial information
  15. Responsible for the overall management and direction of the Clinical, Nursing, Reception/Pre-Cert, and Business Office Operations, credentialing, and materials management(purchasing, inventory and product standardization)
  16. Oversees ASC accreditation and specialty certifications
  17. Makes certain appropriate management guidelines are developed/activated for each unit area of responsibility and make certain policy, procedures, and patient care standards are established, as well as patient care management and department management are compliant with established policies, procedures, and standards
  18. Plans and initiates new projects within approved guidelines and makes certain all personnel are informed and trained
  19. Assist Human Resources in staffing, performance, addressing complaints and resolving staffing concerns
  20. Participates in ASC Board of Trustees meetings and education opportunities and activities, and represents ASC in its relationships with health organizations, government agencies, and third party payers
  21. Participates and coordinates the marketing plan and public relations with the support of Marketing
  22. Regular and predictable attendance
  23. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
  24. Performs all other duties as assigned

Education: BS in Business/Healthcare Administration required; BS in Nursing/MSN/MHA/MBA preferred

Experience:5 years of related experience with background in management required; previous financial background preferred 

Computer:Must be computer literate. Strong knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheets
