From our base opposite Manly beach in Sydney, we provide multidisciplinary health and disability services for children from rural and remote Australia with developmental, behavioural, learning and mental health difficulties.

We are passionate about working with country children, their families, schools and local health providers to provide high quality support and improve outcomes.

WE REQUIRE

  • An energetic paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our growing team.
  • A Speech Pathologist who is keen to provide Telehealth services to families in rural and remote locations.
  • A clinician who will work in collaboration with the highly skilled multi-disciplinary RFW team to provide assessment and intervention.
  • A Speech Pathologist who has experience in working with children in the context of the family and community using a bottom-up, developmental approach that is strengths-based and trauma aware.
  • A team player who will continue to learn through ongoing professional development opportunities and who will thrive in an organisation that provides supportive and robust supervision.


Requirements

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have:

  • A qualification in Speech Pathology and a Certified Practising Membership of Speech Pathology Australia. 
  • Experience in Speech Pathology assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning of children (0 – 16 years).
  • Experience working with children/adolescents with an intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and behavioural difficulties.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with schools and parents using a family centred and strengths-based approach to practice.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and relationship capabilities.
  • This role has been identified as a Category A employee and requires protection against vaccine specified preventable diseases (forms will be provided for successful applicants)

Desirable Criteria for the role:

  • Understanding of issues faced by rural and remote families in accessing health services.
  • Experience using telehealth to deliver Speech Pathology services.
  • Knowledge of early life trauma and/or experience working from a trauma aware approach
