Description

Birmingham-Southern College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of HRIS Assistant. The HRIS Assistant administers the organization's human resources information systems (HRIS), including updating and maintaining data tables, entering employee data, auditing data for accuracy and preparing routine and ad hoc reports, in conjunction with managing the preparations, distribution and reporting processes related to payroll for all College employees. This position supports payroll accounting and provides information and assistance in all aspects related to the payroll function.  In addition, this position will serve as the first point of contact for the Office of Human Resources and support the HR department in areas such as employment verifications, garnishments, survey completion, employee onboarding and heavy data entry.  

Located in Birmingham, Alabama, BSC is a four-year, private institution that consistently has been identified in recent years as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country for its academic quality and its value. Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field with 1-2 years of combined payroll and human resources experience. A solid understanding of Payroll processes, systems, practices and regulations strongly preferred. Banner or Ellucian experience highly desired. Candidate must have the ability to work as a team member and team leader within a collaborative environment and must be able to interact professionally and effectively with multiple constituencies. Ability to instinctively consider the entire employee life cycle. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Excellent writing, organizational and communications skills are required.
