Introduction to the team

The Director of Sales and Private Equity will play a critical role in providing sales leadership, driving overall firm wide growth and overseeing our sales and relationship strategies in institutional channels (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Family Office). The Director will lead the sales department including a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs), sales coaches, and inside sales representatives, to drive revenue growth for the firm. The Director will collaborate with partners and client-facing professionals across our footprint to drive a comprehensive and coordinated sales strategy in the Institutional Investor/Private Equity space. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter as well as motivating, have the capacity to manage and lead a team, possess deep knowledge of Private Equity and Institutional Investor environment and selling best practices, influential with client facing professionals, and have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Firm Sales Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives, improve the selling capabilities of our client-facing team, strengthen the sales culture, and align the sales efforts of our market-facing teams
  • Hire, coach and lead sales department including business developers, inside sales representatives, sales coaches, and sales operations
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development and internal sales coaches to oversee development of sales training and individual coaching programs that improve selling and client service skills


Institutional Markets/Private Equity Channel Leadership

  • Work with industry group leaders and business developers to develop go-to-market and client service strategies for Private Equity and other Institutional Investor relationships, and their portfolio companies
  • Ensure the coordination and implementation of sales and delivery efforts firm wide
  • Provide high-level relationship support to key private equity relationships


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 15 years of related sales and sales management experience in a complex organization required; including demonstrated involvement with building and leading high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. Moss Adams will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status)
  • Deep knowledge of Private Equity and Institutional Investor environment required
  • Demonstrated success in building internal and external senior-level relationships with a proven track record of success in sales and sales management
  • Previous experience implementing and directing sales initiatives; preferably in a professional services environment
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the firm
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively present to large or small groups
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 30%
