Description

The Supply Chain Transformation (SCT) is re-designing, building, and implementing the new way of ensuring our products get to the docks of our Customers and into the hands of our Drinkers.   This will be a 2-3-year journey to bring processes, skill sets, tools, and systems to the hands of all our Supply Chain team members.  We are looking for the right mix of energy, skills, experience, and drive to complete this journey with the highest of quality.

The Supply Chain Learning and Development Lead for Planning will drive the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of programs to improve workforce capabilities that align with business and people needs.  This individual will apply his/her expertise in adult learning to ensure effective, efficient capability building that targets critical skills and behaviors that drive success while integrating the Boston Beer Company culture throughout.

Reports to: Boston Beer Company Supply Chain Transformation People Pillar Lead with a strong dotted line to the Learning & Development Leader, Supply Chain.

Responsibilities: 

What you will do:

  • Builds strong, collaborative working relationships with project leads, HR business partners, team members, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Coach and provide tools to leadership team members for capability building including onboarding, role swaps, etc.
  • Actively participate in Planning process design sessions to identify opportunities to improve workforce capabilities (skills and behaviors) to align with business needs.  Conduct needs analysis and recommend solutions, utilizing a multi-facet approach (e.g. 70/20/10 model).
  • Determine educational strategies and modalities to achieve targeted outcomes for identified skills and behavioral needs to ensure our solutions meet the highest possible standards for relevance, quality, and ease of use.
  • Lead the design, development and/or curation of effective, modern, and engaging learning solutions; collaborate with external partners as needed on program development.
  • Build curriculum for onboarding coworkers inclusive of timing/sequencing of learnings.
  • Lead the delivery of solutions through course facilitation, SMEs/trainers, e-learning delivery via LMS, and other delivery methods as identified.
  • Ensure project leads, SMEs/Trainers, and project team members preparedness for leading, facilitating, and supporting capability building initiatives.
  • Ensure that programs are sustainable, and that accountability and success metrics are in place. Develop and implement creative methods for consistent reinforcement of learning concepts and ongoing accountability. 
  • Drive continuous improvement of our solutions by recommending enhancements to design, content, and implementation when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with project leads and others to facilitate adoption of new programs and improve the impact of learning solutions.
  • Actively partner with communication and change leads.  Act as a change agent and help others develop their own change capabilities.
  • Special projects as assigned

Physical requirements:  Travel to Office/Brewery Locations

Working conditions:

  • Office and classroom settings; sitting and standing for long periods of time
  • 30-40% travel required


Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or related field 
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive learning and development experience, preferred in the food and beverage industry
    • Proven experience leading the design and delivery of learning and development solutions on large scale transformation projects.  Practical knowledge in Supply Chain planning, preferred
    • Proven experience working collaboratively with key stakeholders, team members, and vendors to design and develop effective, modern, and engaging learning solutions
    • Proficient in needs assessment, instructional design, delivering/executing, measuring, auditing, and documenting training for production and salaried employees
    • Strong project management experience with the ability to set milestones, drive execution, manage subject matter experts and stakeholders, and ensure successful integration and adoption in a collaborative and flexible style, with a passion for change and continuous improvement
