The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position in pharmacology at the level of assistant professor. Duquesne University embraces a teacher-scholar model of higher education; qualified candidates will show promise as educators and scholars of their profession and split their time between teaching and research. Successful candidates will have the capability to investigate scientific questions regarding drug development or disease using state-of-the-art approaches. Areas of interest include but are not limited to, pharmacology and toxicology, genomics, neuroscience, immunology, endocrinology, aging, and molecular and cell biology. Duquesne provides a collegial atmosphere with opportunities for collaboration between schools within the University and amongst a variety of other academic institutions in the Pittsburgh region. We are situated in Pittsburgh's cosmopolitan and historic 'downtown', but set apart by its position atop the scenic Bluff overlooking the Monongahela River. We seek candidates whose research, teaching and/or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse audiences in higher education, and particularly in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. School of Pharmacy Duquesne University's School of Pharmacy opened in 1925 with an enrollment of just 50 students. Today, the School of Pharmacy enrolls over 800 students in its six-year Pharm.D. program (traditional and online pathways) and 45 M.S. and Ph.D. students, and has five post-Pharm.D. residency positions. Nearly 100 percent of Duquesne student pharmacists have gained immediate placement in employment and advanced studies for more than two decades and have been given preferred status by pharmacy employers. Requirements

Required Attributes Ph.D. in pharmacology or in a suitably related field. Successful candidates will be expected to teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy and PhD programs, and to develop a robust extramurally-funded research program.
