The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) is seeking an Online Education Programs Coordinator to support the Associate Director of Education with the administration of the AANS online educational portfolio. Coordinator will manage the implementation and evaluation of assigned online and enduring programs. Coordinator will monitor and ensure that accreditation processes and related documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner for assigned directly provided and jointly provided education programs. This job operates in a flexible work arrangement with an expectation to be onsite 2 days a week. A qualified candidate may also support projects that are comprised the Association (AANS), the Foundation (NREF) and the data registry arms (NPA)

  • Implements online educational resources as outlined by committees and senior staff; support faculty management, content development and learning objective development; utilize learning management system to implement interactive and engaging programs to optimize members’ learning experience.
  • Uses project management approaches to track detailed work plans and timelines to successfully implement assigned educational activities. Monitoring routinely to ensure that projects adhere to established deadlines, milestones, scope, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinates logistical activities for online learning. Maintains a library of all courses, manages all faculty communication and coordination.
  • Work collaboratively with Associate Director of Education and Instructional Designer to review data for online programs and identify new program gaps.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of the user interface, navigation, layout, taxonomy, and content for AANS Learning Management System (LMS), NeuroU.
  • Supports AANS ACCME compliance through the coordination of jointly provided learning opportunities with external partners; gathers and develops documentation to demonstrate CME compliance. Develops and maintains education activity files and evaluations for assigned directly provided programs to meet ACCME Criteria and Standards.
  • Monitors, processes, and executes payment for expenses pertaining to online educational programs. Supports efforts to ensure that programs meet budgeted revenue and expense targets.
  • Participate in other daily administrative and support functions, including responding to telephone calls and requests and other general administrative tasks.
  • Performs other job-related duties, as assigned by management



  • College degree required with 2+ years of prior related experience required. Previous association experience and knowledge of ACCME Criteria preferred.
  • Excellent and accurate interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to demonstrate accuracy, efficiency, while working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Capable of managing many projects at once, working with multiple people and able to prioritize job tasks and independently manage one’s time to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Experience with Oasis, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, HTML, and XML preferred

Association and/or health care background a plus.
